Shanghai – Vertical Catwalk Show

A short report on the Shanghai - Vertical Catwalk production performend in China Shanghai. I took a very welcome break from my research with EADS Innovation Works in March and produced a show with Jochen Schweizer for the grand opening of the 5+1 Star Peninsula hotel in Shanghai.

At first we had to train for the show in our training location in Munich. Since the wall of the Peninsula hotel in shanghai is about the same hight as our outdoor training location, we trained in the snow.

Training went on for about five days and the dancers belayers and coordinators worked realy hard on improfing performance.

After the performanc in the wall was acceptable we flew to to Shanghai and had to change the plane in Doha Quatar.

We were housed in a wonderful five star hotel called Baron Business Hotel

After work was done we had some spare time and could take a look around Shanghai. Monstly we went out for dinner at night. We ate at the M1nt Restaurant.

Also we were at a Japanese specialty restaurant twice because we liked it a lot:

And for lunch in between training rehersals we went to a restaurant just around the corner where they had realy strange food, like a wohle cooked turtle and frog legs and stuff o.O

Another great restaurant we were dining named Lost Heaven. We couldnt decide on what to order so we just ordered all of the appetizers all of the main dishes and lots of rice:

We did some sight seeing too:

Oh and when you ever get to go to a Chinese big city, dont forget to  visit the Fake market. You can get some realy cheap stuff there. I got myself for 100€ (1000 Yuan) 4 Armani Jeans, 4 Business Shirts, An I-Pod, RayBean Sunglasses and a big Samsonite trolly to hold it all together^^

All in all im very pleased that i were given the chance to be part of this show. I realy like the work and my colleages, so thank you for a nice Show and a good time in Shanghai China!

Bayern 1 Winter Festival

For one wekend in febuary i worked with my friend Philipp at Spiegelau in Bavaria near the Czech Republic. I was amazed that they had about 1-2 meters of snow there.

The winter festival was carried out by the german radio station Bayern 1 and they had a cross-country skiing contest alongside a band and some local vip's.

Our job was to do a bungee running contest. Bungee running is fun, two persons get connected to a bungee cord and start running at the same time towards the entrance. The one who can place the orange marker further to the entrance wins. The thing is that the faster you runn the more  the bungee cords pull you back. So the competitors are bounced around in the soft blue inflatable like ping pong balls.

All in all and besides the cold temperatures it was a great deal of fun.

Malta – Vertical Catwalk production

A short report on the Malta - Vertical Catwalk production performend on the island of Malta. I took a very welcome break from my research with EADS Innovation Works in December and produced the show with Jochen Schweizer.

At first we had to train for the show in our training location in Munich.

Training went on for about five days and the dacers belayers and coordinators worked realy hard on improfing performance

Let's get Vertical ... Vertical

After the performanc in the wall was acceptable we flew to Malta (Valetta).

We were housed in a wonderful five star hotel near the sea.

Malta Alta

After work was done we had some spare time and could take a look around Malta. Traveling there is very cheap if you take the bus. Which costs about 50 cents for an hour busride. So we went to Median and to see the biggest cannon in the world. Pictures of our trip can be found on the picture page in the navigational bar above.

All in all im very pleased that i were given the chance to be part of this show. I realy like the work and my colleages, so thank you for a nice production!

My new Phone Nokia E71

I've bought myself a new Phone! :-)

Nokia E71 Smartphone:

nokia e71

Why i did it:

htc touch diamond I had a HTC Touch Diamond, which is realy great in functionality. It does MS Office, Navigation on Windows Mobile. But Battery lifetime is realy realy short. So i bought a bigger Battery, but that did not help eather. In addition, entering text is a mess!

w810iSo i found myself using my old Sony Ericson W801i, wich has a realy good Battery and just works for calling people. But since the Last Bungee Jumping event some keys stopped working :-(   --> I need a new one.

So which phone should i buy? What do i need in a phone?

I need:

  1. Battery Lifetime, because im realy lazy when it comes to charging ;-)
  2. Many and usable Keys.
  3. Navigation, to find places.
  4. E-mail
  5. Price should be below 200€

So after googling for days i made a decision: Nokia E71 and bought it on ebay for 182€ Its a symbian s60 3rd Edition Phone. Which responds in an instant to each pressed key. Not like windows Mobile which made me wait all the time. Up till now i love it

So why do i like my new Phone so much?

  1. Responds to input realy fast.
  2. Its got all connectors you would wish for. (Mini USB, 2,5" Headphone Jack, IR-Connector, W-lan, Blue Tooth, GSM, UMTS, HSDPA, G3, Mini-SD...
  3. 3,2 MP Camera with Flash
  4. Battery Lifetime >3 days
  5. Full QUERTZ Keyboard
  6. Solid Manufacturing
  7. Style ;-)

Additionally you can install your own apps on it. Here's a list of what i have installed:

  • Putty - which works realy gread
  • Opera Mini 5 -> Waiting for Firefox mini ;-)
  • Skype
  • Nimbuzz  -->  ICQ, MSN, Facebook, studivz
  • S60SpotOn, which activates the Camera Flashlight as a Torch
  • Meteo Weather Forecast
  • Calcium Calculator

But i still dont have everything i want in My Phone.

  • Route 66 Navigation -> as it gets the GPS Fix realy quick and uses Agps
  • A small Chess game :-)
